A collaboration between East Anglian Air Ambulance, Devon Air Ambulance and Intelogy has been shortlisted for a Tech Impact Award. A new tool called HEMS Ops, to help Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) Operations teams to manage and automate efficiency checks, has been recognised in the Best Tech Innovation to Promote Health category.

A winning collaboration

Imagine operating a 24/7 lifesaving service, then imagine the technology and governance required to make everything run seamlessly to optimise patient care. These processes are vital to ensuring crews can respond to life-threatening emergencies in our communities with absolute readiness and reliability.

HEMS operations demand precision. From auditing controlled medication to conducting rigorous pilot and crew equipment checks, every governance process must be completed swiftly and accurately. Any efficiencies made can further support patient care in critical, time-sensitive situations.

The new platform, ‘HEMS Ops’, was developed by Intelogy, in collaboration with East Anglian Air Ambulance and Devon Air Ambulance to strengthen the governance and efficiency of their HEMS operations. This supports their equipment, medication, stock and date checks with a central system using iPads, dashboards and automated notifications.
