Each year the IRMS recognises excellence in the field of information management with their prestigious Industry Awards.

Innovation of the Year is a competitive award that is determined by the votes of IRMS (Information & Records Management Society) members. As such, receiving this award is a clear demonstration of the scale and success of the results that TPR has achieved.

“I’m delighted for the Records Management team at The Pensions Regulator – after all their hard work, Derek Warner and Leila Ratcliff fully deserve this accolade.”

Rob Bath, Knowledge & Information Management Practice Lead at Intelogy

The significant work undertaken by the Records Management Team at TPR, and their unwavering commitment, expertise and collaborative approach have resulted in a transformative information governance framework that will safeguarded TPR’s data, enhance their regulatory compliance, and empower staff to contribute to the organisation’s success.

This Framework significantly enhanced TPR’s information governance practices, ensuring the effective management and protection of its valuable information assets.

Intelogy, in partnership with FYI are proud to have supported TPR throughout this project. Our team was appointed to oversee the creation of an Information Asset Register using Microsoft’s Power Platform. Intelogy provided TPR with an IAR which incorporates a business systems register, an integral BCS and integrated records of processing activities. The IAR utilises a Power App to provide a contextual interface with central data storage provided by Microsoft Dataverse.

The application delivers an automated annual review process, that provides both Information Asset Owners and Managers with a consistent interface to maintain assets throughout their lifecycle. Notifications are provided across various IAR activities, including the creation of new information assets, updates to existing assets, or the need for asset decommissioning.

The new IAR additionally provides TPR with a comprehensive reporting interface provided by the Power BI Service, which enables in-depth exploration of information assets.

“Congratulations to The Pension Regulator’s Records Management team. It’s great to see the IAR recognised with an award. With its intuitive data management interfaces, automated scheduled reviews, and extensive compliance features, it will greatly streamline the management of TPR’s information assets. This is a great example of what’s possible in the Records Management domain with the Power Platform.”

Edgar Karpavicius, Technical Consultant at Intelogy

“The Pension Regulator’s Records Management team has worked very hard to improve information governance practices that will help to ensure regulatory compliance. The new IAR dashboard will make the process of managing information assets much easier for staff and is a great example of excellent innovation in records management practices.”
