As a trusted technology partner, Intelogy has worked closely with a UK housing association throughout its Microsoft 365 journey, helping them adopt new capabilities, improve security and maximise the value of their investment.

As part of their roadmap to modernise device management, the organisation turned to Intelogy to review their approach and provide strategic guidance on the future platform direction. Following this assessment, we recommended transitioning from their existing third-party Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution to Microsoft Intune, providing a more integrated and future-ready approach aligned with their Microsoft 365 strategy.

By consolidating device management into Microsoft 365, the organisation could simplify its technology landscape, strengthen security controls and make better use of capabilities already available within its licensing. Microsoft Intune also enabled closer integration with Microsoft Entra Conditional Access and the wider Microsoft security ecosystem, creating a stronger foundation for secure hybrid working and future digital transformation initiatives.

The organisation relied on a third-party Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform to manage mobile devices. While it provided core management capabilities, it operated separately from Microsoft’s wider security ecosystem, limiting integration with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra Conditional Access and broader Microsoft 365 security services.

Without a unified platform, it was proving difficult to verify device compliance, establish trusted device identity and apply consistent access policies across users, applications and corporate data. As the organisation continued its Microsoft 365 transformation, it needed a modern endpoint management solution that could strengthen security while simplifying administration.

Working collaboratively with the housing association, Intelogy defined the future state for device management, ensuring the approach aligned with their wider Microsoft 365 strategy, security requirements and user experience goals.

Through an Art of the Possible workshop, we explored the capabilities of Microsoft Intune and how it could replace the existing MDM platform with a more integrated approach to managing devices, applications and access. This included reviewing device enrolment approaches, compliance requirements, application management, mobile security controls and the role of Conditional Access in ensuring only trusted devices could access organisational resources.

Intelogy developed a solution design that established the foundations for a modern endpoint management platform. This included the configuration of Microsoft Intune, device compliance policies, security controls and integration with Microsoft Entra Conditional Access.

The implementation began with the structured migration of corporate-owned Android and Apple iOS devices onto Intune, providing a consistent management experience across the mobile estate. The new platform also established the foundations for future adoption of additional capabilities, including Windows device management, Windows Autopilot, application protection policies and broader endpoint security controls.

By bringing device management into Microsoft 365, the organisation now has a simpler, more secure and scalable approach to managing endpoints, reducing reliance on separate platforms while creating a foundation for continued digital transformation.
